Ok, I Bought CBD Oil, Now How Do I Use It?

So you did it, did you? 

You bought your first bottle of CBD oil. Congrats! I hope this is the beginning of a long relationship with what has been a deeply healing and nourishing plant for many, for thousands of years. 

Many people are unsure how to take CBD Oil without some form of instruction. Take a deep breath, because there is no wrong way to do it!

I am an advocate of forming your own personal relationship to the plant and the medicine, and guiding yourself intuitively. You cannot overdose from CBD, and it isn't a psychoactive stimulant, but more of a gentle balancer. Because of this, you don't need to stress if you take too much, or if a pet eats it for example  BUT a good place to start, is always with a few drops under the tongue. You'll feel the full effects within about 20 minutes, whether its muscle relaxation, a reduction in stress, a mild mood boost, or the vanishing of cramps or pain, you will discover over time what CBD can offer you, and juuuuust how much gives you that perfect easy feeling. 

Remember, however, that with CBD, LESS IS OFTEN MORE. Start very low, because in many studies, it has shown to be more effective at a lower dose, specifically for sleep and restfulness. Too much CBD can make some people  sleepy, and for some, more alert and focused. Not like Coffee, so don't worry! You wont be buzzing, but ready to study for your exams, or get in your yoga. It clears the fog for some. 

You have your own unique Endo-Cannabinoid System and it requires it's own unique ratio and dosage, so my personal advice is to honour your body and what it communicates to you. 

My personal advice is to introduce THC to your micro-dosing schedule, alongside the CBD, after you've completed your first few bottles of CBD, or if you find the results are decreasing, or your tolerance is increasing. For most people, this seems to take about 3 or 4 bottles before they need to increase their dose, or add THC  (or other cannabinoids) for extra relief. 

Cannabinoids work best together, intact.
